Building
A tool starts when something annoys me for long enough. Before any code exists I write down what it should do and where it stops, because the AI agents I build with are biased towards doing: give them a vague task and they finish the wrong thing quickly.
Then the agents build, often several at once, and I check what comes back against what I wrote down, not against how sure it sounds.
Before a repository goes public, publishable reads its whole history for personal data. Then it goes on GitHub, under my name or Castor's.
Writing
A piece starts as a note in my own notes, sometimes months before it is an essay. Buying Surprise was a note in August and went up in October.
Here each piece is one plain text file. Footnotes become notes in the margin on a wide screen, and the Contents comes from the piece's own sections.
This site
Every change is built as options side by side, checked on a phone and a desktop, in light and dark, and only the one I pick goes live.
The way links draw their line and the Contents beside an article come from Castor's site, which I designed. No tracking, no cookies.
